摘要

We have constructed a general purpose, variable pathlength, variable temperature liquid cell which removes defocussing and converging effects in millimeter and submillimeter wave Fourier transform and laser spectroscopy of liquids. The liquid thickness can be varied continuously from 0 to 25 mm allowing absorption spectra of low loss liquids to be measured with high accuracy. The liquid cell (except for the liquid compartment) can be evacuated together with the interferometer, increasing the signal-to-noise ratio.
