摘要

The oceans are huge renewable energy reservoir and manycountries have launched their national renewable energyprojects for decarbonization 1). Although today most of theenergy projects are very near from the shore and rated atlow power, the huge potential of the oceans may bring marineenergy development further into deep sea in near future 2). It isgenerally acknowledged that a bottleneck of the ocean energydevelopment would be the bulk power transmission between theonshore electrical grid and the offshore platforms with low-costequipments 3). The bottom-fixed lattice towers, which are lowcostand widely adopted for onshore and inshore applications,are no longer suitable for the deep offshore applications dueto the unacceptable high cost on the installation 4). Currently,the submarine cables are the unique method for the long distanceoffshore power transmission though the manufacturing,installing, and maintaining cost is high 5).
