These days powder coating has been rapidly studied and applied to industries of ship, automotive car body, paper, plastics, wooden furniture and so on.Because powder coating has the environmental advantage in comparison with the liquid coating, especially, no danger of serious air pollutants such asthinner, toluene, Volatile Organic Compound. So the worldwide trend is to increase the use rate of powder coatings and the types and colors are diversifying.Also, a lot of studies are being conducted to strengthen the corrosion resistance of the powder coatings. In this work, the influence of additives on the powdercoating anti-corrosion in artificial sea water was reported.Surface morphology of coated sample with additives particles was studied by Scanning Electron Microscope. Corrosion resistance of the samples were evaluatedby Electrochemical Impedance spectroscopy which showed a good enhancement in the corrosion resistance of powder coated sample additives particles relativeto that of untreated sample. Further investigation on obtaining relationship between corrosion resistance and equivalent circuit was studied. Salt Spray Test wasanalyzed on the corrosion protection of powder coating with additives. It was proposed that the sample of epoxy powder coated sample with additives showedthe better corrosion resistance by the stable coating surface.
