Radio-on-fiber (ROF) access systems have been studied as anexcellent approach for future DSRC (dedicated short rangecommunications) infrastructure in ITS. The paper addresses the DSRCsystem utilizing the radio-on-fiber technique with possibility of softhand-over or zone-diversity between the adjacent radio zones bycentralized control. A reduction method is proposed to compensateintermodulation distortion (IMD) due to the nonlinearity of the E/Oconverters and RF amplifiers. The IMD improvement of about 20-25 dB canbe obtained, which is expected to be sufficient to solve the mostserious problem in the ROF system
