The paper presents an inspection method by means of stochasticqualitative simulation for sensor installation faults in airconditioning systems. Sensor installation faults often occur innewly-constructed or newly-maintained systems. Since the installationfaults of sensors present themselves in the form of changes of measuredvalues, the authors have proposed an inspection method for sensorinstallation faults. First, one constructs a qualitative model based onthe specifications. Next, the measured values are modified according tothe assumed sensor installation faults. Finally, faults are identifiedby using stochastic qualitative reasoning. This method is demonstratedby applying it to an air conditioning system
