Performance enhancement of scan converter-based transientdigitizers by digital image processing

摘要

A method for the enhancement of the dynamic performance of scanconverter-based transient digitizers is proposed. Firstly, acharacterization technique capable of discriminating the best diodetarget area and so suggesting to the user the best time window set upfor the acquisition is illustrated. Then, by considering the chargeintensity distribution as a digital image, in the case of signalsacquired with missing portions, a two-dimensional filtering algorithmcapable of restoring the signal is shown. Experimental results obtainedby the proposed method on an actual transient digitizer are alsoreported
