Quantification of soil material content in vegetated areas byremote sensing

The authors have developed a new data-analysis method forestimating vegetation cover rate and for quantifying the content of soilmaterial content on the basis of a new optical model-“theiso-grain model”. This method has been applied to a part of theHelvetia region, Arizona, USA, by using airborne remote sensing data.Both the vegetation cover rate and the material composition obtained bythis method agreed well with field survey data
