The problem of the identification and separation of multiplePartial Discharge phenomena simultaneously active within soliddielectrics is here investigated. Combined PD phenomena, caused bydifferent PD sources, are separated by means of a stochastic procedurederived from a statistical analysis performed on three-dimensional PDpattern. The results are compared with those derived from PDmeasurements performed on specimens producing a single PD phenomenon ata time. A comparison between the separated patterns coming from thecombined electrode configuration and the single source patterns has beenperformed using some statistical parameters
