Effects of the voltage waveform on partial discharges activity in avented sample (HDPE)

Partial discharges measurements are performed in polyethylenevented samples (HDPE-air gap-HDPE). Some characteristics of PD-activity(PDIV, PD-number, PD-phase) are recorded versus voltage waveform (sinusand square). The effect of the voltage frequency is also analyzed.Experimental data is compared with theoretical results using theabc-model. Some hypothesis are done to explain the deviation fromtheoretical behaviors
