Stimulated supercontinuum generation: Acceleration, stabilization and control

We introduce active control over supercontinuum generation by stimulating the generation process with a very weak optical seed pulse. We experimentally demonstrate that a weak stimulus dramatically increases the supercontinuum stability and coherence.
