We investigate the efficiency of interference alignment for 2 × 2 × 2 interference networks formed by concatenation of two user interference channels under the assumption of imperfect channel state information. We show that, as a result of cumulative noise in zero forcing receivers, aligned interference neutralisation is not practical when perfect channel state information is not available. We give analytical SNR and SINR expressions at relays and receivers and also provide some simulation results using a channel estimation error model.
