Over the last few decades, researchers have been investigating theseismic performance of Unbonded Post-Tensioned (UPT) PrecastConcrete Wall Structures. The advantages of this system overconventional cast-in-situ reinforced concrete walls are that it is ableto sustain large deformations while maintaining its lateral strength,energy dissipation, and smaller residual deformation. Besides, itsdamage can be limited to cover concrete spalling at the critical joint.Although some experimental efforts have been made to investigatethe structural performance of UPT walls [1,2] which formed the basisfor design guidelines published later [3], there is limited informationon UPT walls using external dampers. In addition, previousexperimental research featured UPT walls with low levels of axialload, then, further research is needed to evaluate the application ofUPT walls as bearing structural walls.
