1) Two methods were developed in this study. Based on theanalysis results, θ_(max) can be reduced best when a is between 0.6and 0.8 for Met. I and between 0.5 and 0.6 for Met. Ⅱ.2) Based on the analytical results, the optimal a values were notfound to be significantly affected by either R_(db) or R_(dc). Larger R_(db)and R_(dc) resulted in greater efficiency in reducing θ_(max). However,amax would be amplified if Rdb and Rdc are very large.3) The optimal R_(db) and R_(dc) values in order to achieve minimumθ_(max) and amax are around 1 for S_(bc) ranging from 2 to 5, around 3for S_(bc) ranging from 1 to 2, and around 4 for S_(bc) smaller than 1.For design purposes, in order to enhance the outrigger effect,increasing S_(bc) instead of increasing R_(db) or R_(dc) is recommended.
