Optical Metagrating for One-Shot Polarization Measurements

We formulate a new conceptual approach for one-shot full Stokes polarization measurement with a single meta-grating, and develop novel design through advanced computational optimization of individual nano-resonatorproperties delivering robust operation even under strong fabrication inaccuracy. We fabricated the metasurfacefrom amorphous silicon nanostructures deposited on glass, and experimentally confirmed accurate optical polar-ization reconstruction. We anticipate that our new concept will facilitate diverse applications such as optimalpolarization state imaging tailored for computer vision or quantum state characterization.
