Mid infrared metasurfaces is one of the key technology for sensors, energy harvesters in renewable society.Especially absorption type of metasurfaces can be applied for mid infrared light source and detectors according toKirchhoff's law. Here we demonstrate the recent advances of metasurface, fabrication (lithography / lithographyfree), optical characterization of reection ,scattering and absorption, photo-thermal energy conversion, andsensing applications in mid infrared wavelength. The experimentally measured optical properties were comparedwith simulations by finite difference time-domain (FDTD) method and finite element method (FEM).
