The recent up gradation in wireless sensor network, technology and technology arise the uses of wireless multimedia sensor network (WMSN) in multiple applications. Different architecture and protocol implementation in WMSN has been progressing research area. Wireless multimedia sensor network consists of the advance sensor in network which have a capability to capture the video, audio, scalar data and image based on application example is medical, military, surveillance system and monitoring of traffic. The purpose of this paper is to study the performance parameter of protocols like Quality of Service(QoS) parameters with different architecture like reliability, end to end delay, load distribution and efficiency of energy. This paper survey the design challenges and routing protocol performance parameter on the existing protocol of WMSN.
