摘要

The behaviour of fibre orientation in dilute suspension with a front moving is simulated using the projection and level set methods. The motion of fibres is described using the Jeffery equation and the contribution of fibres to the flow is accounted for by the configuration field method. The effects of various flow parameters and fibre parameters on the fibre orientation and the shapes of the leading flow front are studied. In addition, it has been found that the fibre has strong influence on distributions of the streamwise and transverse velocities. Near the flow front region, the fibre orientation is nearly always along the front boundary.
