摘要

Uplink/downlink independent radio resource management is onesolution for emerging multimedia wireless networks. This paper presentssix downlink channel assignment algorithms for packet-based TDMA/FDMAsystems. The goal is to minimize the channel setup delay while attaininghigh transmission quality. Computer simulations are used to evaluatesystem performance in terms of dropped packet ratio and average channelsetup delay. Only the bursty voice traffic is considered for real-timetransmission. Priority-based two-stage algorithms are found to providegood performance, where the first stage is the selection of carrier tobe scanned, and the second stage is the selection of time-slot to beassigned. The effect of priority determination algorithms is alsodiscussed
