The measurement principle presented is based on a high precisionpositioning system for object rotation, in conjunction with an opticaldistance sensor based on an autofocus principle. A personal computerequiped with special interfaces delivers the motor voltage (pulse widthsignal) for the desired object rotation speed and reads the signal fromthe high resolution incremental angular encoder in order to control theobject rotation speed. Furthermore, the computer also performs thereading of the sensor distance signal as well as the subsequent storageand visualisation of the evaluated measurement data
