The effect of space diversity on coded modulation for the fadingchannel

We address the problem of designing a coded modulation scheme forthe fading channel when space diversity is used. We focus on the factthat a channel affected by fading can be asymptotically turned into anadditive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel by increasing the number ofdiversity branches, thus turning coded-modulation schemes designed forthe AWGN channel into efficient codes over the fading channel
