We investigate the feasibility of the fiber network C/Mplanerecovery via an IoT-based extremely narrow-bandand lossy links system (FRENLL) which takes advantageof the broadly distributed IoT resources and the LPWAbasedwireless mesh networks. We present the preliminarystudy results with a field-trial experiment successfullyverifying the feasibility of the IoT-base disaster recoveryof optical transport networks within a metropolitan area.
