As already published in previous DASIApapers, the University of Stuttgart, Germany,is developing an advanced 3-axis stabilizedsmall satellite applying industry standards forcommand/control techniques and OnboardSoftware design. This satellite furthermorefeatures an innovative hybrid architecture ofOnboard Computer and Power Control andDistribution Unit.One of the main challenges was thedevelopment of an ultra-compact andperforming Onboard Computer (OBC), whichwas intended to support an RTEMS operatingsystem, a PUS standard based OnboardSoftware (OBSW) and CCSDS standardbased ground/space communication. Thedeveloped architecture (see [1, 2, 3]) is calleda “Combined Onboard Data and PowerManagement Infrastructure” - CDPI. Itfeatures:1 The OBC processor boards based on aLEON3FT architecture - from AeroflexInc., USA2 The I/O Boards for all OBC digitalinterfaces to S/C equipment (digital RIU)- from 4Links Ltd. UK3 CCSDS TC/TM decoder/encoder boards -with same HW design as I/O boards - justwith limited number of interfaces. HWfrom 4Links Ltd, UK, driver SW and IPCorefrom Aeroflex Gaisler, SE4 Analog RIU functions via enhancedPCDU from Vectronic Aerospace, D5 OBC reconfiguration unit functions viaCommon Controller - here in PCDU [4]The CDPI overall assembly is almostcomplete at time of this abstract. The EM testcampaign including the HW/SW compatibilitytesting is finalizing. This comprises allOBC EM units, OBC EM assembly and theEM PCDU.The unit test program for the FM Processor-Boards and Power-Boards of the OBC arecompleted and the unit tests of FM I/Oboardsand CCSDS-Boards are started by4Links on 18.2.2013 at the assembly house.This abstract describes the test program forthe CDPI architecture as far as progressed attime of abstract. The final paper in May willprovide the full picture of the test campaign.
