Small aperture holographic lenses for optical interconnectapplications

The limits on holographic lens performance are discussed. The needto make the lenses with visible light then use them in the infrared isidentified as a key consideration. Small size is found to be beneficialin controlling aberrations. Coupling of light into a single mode fibrewith a wavelength shifted holographic lens is demonstrated
