Laser diode arrays (LDA) can generate coherent light beams of highpower. Unfortunately, the output beam is of a poor quality, which cannotbe collimated properly by conventional diode laser optics. The authorspresent a method for beam shaping of LDA using holographic opticalelements, which produces a nearly symmetric single lobed beam ofcollimated light with maximum conversion efficiency
