The radio receiver parameters are optimized, and it is shown bysimulation that a simple receiver can be used for DECT with excellentcochannel performance, thus allowing the high reuse factors desired. TheDECT performance in Rayleigh fading dispersive channels is considered,as this will be of vital importance for the operation of DECT in outdoorenvironments, particularly in Telepoint networks. It is shown that DECTlinks without diversity will be significantly affected if the delayspread exceeds 100 ns and that receiver signal-strengthindication-driven diversity may extend this upper bound to about 200 ns
