The compression behavior of trabecular structures with different density produced by Additive Laser Manufacturing of a Ti-6Al-4V powder were investigated. Both regular and irregular structures were produced. The compression behavior depends on density without a significant difference between the two irregular structures. The structures differ however in terms of pore size distribution. The correlation between Young’s modulus and yield strength and relative density follows the Gibson-Ashby model. The regular structures display a higher stiffness and strength than the irregular ones. The deformation behavior is affected by sharp instability phenomena due to buckling in the regular structure, and by localized shear in the irregular ones.
