The measuring precision of the velocity plays an important role in themotion control system. This paper proposes a high-precision underwatervelocity measurement system based on a mechanical velocitymeasurement device and the Kalman filter algorithm, which caneffectively increase the precision and reliability of underwater velocitymeasurement. The proposed system consists of three steps: 1) Design areliable mechanical velocity measurement device to increase thereliability of the application in the underwater environment; 2)Reasonable data sampling method, dual-sensor asynchronous samplingto increase the sampling frequency; 3) Advanced data processingalgorithms to eliminate noise and predict data to improve real-timeperformance. Through a large number of simulation experiments, wehave proved the proposed high-precision underwater velocitymeasurement system, including the reliability of equipment and theaccuracy of velocity measurement. Our proposed measurement systemis promising for advancing the state of the control of complex underwatersystems.
