A tidal model of the Pearl River Estuary (PRE) is established based onMIKE21 and applied to investigate the responses of tides to scenarios of0.5 m, 1.0 m and 2.0 m sea level rise (SLR), the model results indicatethat: Both M2 tidal amplitude and high tidal level increase from open seato the outlets with different growth trends under different SLR scenarios.The increase of M2 tidal amplitude is proportional to the increase of sealevel, however, it is nonlinear due to the impacts of water depth andbottom friction in shallow water.
