Abstract: Algorithms for detecting land mines using theGEO-CENTERS, Vehicle-Based Energy Focusing GroundPenetrating Radar (EFGPR) are presented. The algorithmsrely on the use of hidden Markov models to model thetime-varying signatures produces by the interaction ofthe EFGPR and the landmines as the vehicle moves.Results are presented on isolated land mine signaturesisolated from calibration lane data from Fort A.P. Hillin the summer of 1998. !11
