Series-capacitor compensated shield scheme for enhanced mitigationof transmission line magnetic fields

A new magnetic field mitigation concept involving aseries-compensated shield circuit paralleling a transmission linebetween the line and the right-of-way edge is presented. An evaluationmethodology is proposed which is valid for analyzing magnetic fieldmitigation concepts in general. The research discussed identifies theshield circuit and compensation requirements and shows the effectivenessof the scheme. Practical implementation considerations areincluded
