This paper describes the steps Bharti Cellular Limited wentthrough in implementing a GSM cellular network in Delhi. The network isnot only the first in Delhi, but also one of the first to startoperations in India. The typical problems BCL experienced in engineeringthis network are likely to be repeated in other parts of the countrywhere such networks are planned to be installed in the near future.Primarily the discussions follow the steps of the design, installation,commissioning, testing and operation & maintenance of the network
