Some results on FDM/DS-CDMA signalling scheme for wirelesscommunication networks

A hybrid FDM/DS-CDMA system, with a single processing gain value,operating over an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel isdescribed and analyzed. The performance of the proposed scheme is thencompared with the conventional multiprocessing gain system. It isobserved that the new system offers a higher capacity than the latter,and is capable of facilitating different quality of service (QoS)requirements for heterogeneous traffic in a multimedia network. Furthercapacity enhancement with optimized power allocation based on equalerror probability (EEP) strategy is also discussed
