Application and testing of a microcomputer based network protector

摘要

Network protector relays are used to monitor and control the powerflow of low voltage AC to secondary network power systems. They arewidely used in underground distribution networks with multiple powerinjection points that require high continuity of service in heavilyloaded high population density urban areas. The purpose of the networkprotector is to prevent the system from backfeeding and initiateautomatic reclosing when the system returns to normal. This paperdescribes the operation theory, application areas and testing proceduresof network protectors. The testing results of a microcomputer basednetwork protector are used in this paper for illustration
