Multipath delay prediction on a workstation for urban mobile radioenvironment

Digital mobile radio systems suffer severe multipath fading inurban areas. It necessitates radio environment evaluation for systemdesign. A multipath delay profile prediction system without any fieldmeasurement has been realized on a workstation. The applied method ispurely theoretical and assumes a direct-diffracted wave fromtransmitting antenna, and the waves scattered on the walls visible fromtransmitting antenna as incident waves at a receiving point. Comparisonwith measured results shows good agreement
