A discussion is presented of the human brain, the model from whichthe artificial neural systems (ANS) are derived, and some basic learningstrategies are examined. A brief overview of artificial neural systemsis presented, and some applications of these systems to spacecraft powersubsystems diagnostic problems are proposed. It is noted that there arestill many unanswered questions and very few hardware implementations ofthese networks, and that standard chip sets are virtually nonexistent
