Ethics within the corporate structure EMC

The author discusses several issues facing the electromagneticcompatibility (EMC) engineer today. It is pointed out that ethics andthe corporate bottom-line are many times at odds with one another.Sometimes unethical conduct and practices occur within EMC departmentsdue to pressures from management to give them the answers they want tohear. Interdepartment communication plays a key role in running anefficient and respected EMC department. The corporate commitment indollars is many times superficial and misdirected. These and otherimportant issues such as liability, the decision triangle and EMCengineer, and the credibility, independence, and integrity of the EMCtest lab are discussed in detail
