Part 7 of the BSI 7671; 1992-Requirements for ElectricalInstallations (The IEE Wiring Regulations) covers inspection and testingand Chapter 71 contains the requirements for initial verification. Here,the author describes how initial verification requires that aninstallation be inspected and tested as the work proceeds, ie duringerection and before being put into service, in order to verify that thedesign of the installation, the selection of materials and the equipmentas well as the methods of installation, all conform to the relevantRegulations.
