Aim of the current study is to develop a new strategy to capture a high speed evader by creating a trap with the help of multiple pursuers. This strategy is an improvement to the cooperative pursuit strategy that was developed in the recent studies. Some important observations were derived from the previous studies that are required for developing the current strategy and are presented in this paper along with the required proofs. Trapping Pursuit Strategy has been successfully developed from these observations and has been demonstrated using the results from numerical simulations. Comparison of these results with the results from previous studies has clearly showed the dominance of trapping pursuit strategy over cooperative pursuit strategy in terms of both speed and capturability.
