Finding the optimum ratio between the hydraulic losses in the exhaust tract movement and effective noise suppression is an urgent research priority. The article describes the results of the development of theoretical models of gasdynamic calculation of losses in the muffler “suitcase-type” and check the adequacy of the model by experimental determination of the parameters studied on a test bench. The results of theoretical calculations are well confirmed by experimental data
