Channel capacity of Millimeter(MM) wave cellular networks which employ phased antenna arrays and the array output signal to noise ratio are analyzed. Millimeter wave works on very high frequency bands i.e. 28, 38, and 72 GHz and this results in antenna sizes ranging in millimeter. Therefore the antennas are integrated on chip and are also steered to achieve very high capacity. In MM wave systems, directional elements are used with beam steering to achieve high data rate and high capacity. The data rate is enhanced by 40 times more than the off chip or external antennas. In this paper radiation patterns and capacity are analyzed for linear and planar antenna arrays under beamforming.
