The mathematical description of the wave numbers of the core and cladding region as the function of the Eigen value and refractive index of the symmetric step index slab waveguide is described and the integrated mode profile of transverse electric field (TE) is also presented. The parameters of the slab waveguide assumed in this work are refractive index of film layer (nf) is 3.0 and refractive index of cover layer (nc) and substrate layer (ns) is 2.5, for wavelength (λ) 1.50μm, the thickness (a) of the core is 0.5 μm, The results of analysis are presented in graphical form by combining TE0 and TE2 mode, TE1 and TE3 mode in Matrix Laboratory.
