A Low-Cost Kibble Balance for Africa

This paper describes the development and implementation of a low-cost equal arm Kibble Balance system. The Kibble Balance is intended as a technology and metrology demonstrator for educational institutions and NMIs in Africa. In this paper, the principles and the design of the balance is presented. The system is implemented, and initial force mode calibration (BL)-values show stable results.
