One Factor for Oscillation on the Front of Impulse Voltage Waveforms

During impulse voltage comparison test, it is important to keep the waveforms smooth to get consistence experiment results, especially for the front time parameter. However, wrinkles or oscillations are often found on the front of the waveforms. The authors promoted a hypothesis that these oscillations are possibly caused by the resistor in the damped capacitive voltage divider which often serves as the load for impulse voltage generation. By computer simulations and experiments, the authors proved this hypothesis.
