Lacquer art is an excellent traditional culture of China. As early as the Neolithic period, lacquer has been used to paint patterns on pottery spittoon or woodware. The wooden-body lacquer bowl unearthed from the third floor of the Hemudu primitive social and cultural site is the earliest lacquer ware known to date, with a history of more than 6,000 years. For us, lacquer art is not only a perfect expression of visual art, but also a symbol of national culture and spiritual symbols, as well as a materialized form of the spiritual life of the Chinese people. Pile lacquer art is a kind of skill created by Taiwan's famous lacquer artist Yang Fengcheng. While inheriting the traditional lacquer culture and skills, he has also made creative transformation. He has created a large number of high-quality lacquer artworks with tubeless Pile lacquer skill, breaking the traditional pattern of using inner tube to put on lacquer and solving the problem that thousand years of burial and soaking would decay the wooden body in the lacquer ware, which enables the lacquer ware to go further in preservation and cultural heritage in the future. In the age of chemical lacquer, especially today when the lacquer design gradually returns to human life, we pay attention to the style in terms of art. However, we should focus more on the purpose that design should serve people. That is, design should inherit the true traditional culture for everyone, and serve the quality of life and health for people. It is well known that chemical substances in chemical lacquer are harmful to human body and the environment, and also violate the research and inheritance of the use of Chinese lacquers in traditional lacquer art. Chinese lacquer not only has such physical properties as acid resistance, heat resistance, moisture resistance, anti-corrosion, hard film, high abrasion resistance and colorfast, but also has unique aesthetic characters. Through in-depth research and experiment on the characteristics of Chinese lacquer materials, this topic understands changes of its color, texture, shape, and drying time under different environments, in different production processes, with different tools and different techniques. On this basis, apply the characteristics of Chinese lacquer to the design of Pile lacquer ware through the tubeless lacquer skill, which can help achieve practical and beautiful design of living lacquers. Inherit traditions in materials, draw on traditions in skills, break traditions in terms of shapes, and integrate lacquer art into human life, so as to inherit Chinese traditional culture.
