Research on Trade Facilitation Levels in RCEP and China’s Countermeasures Based on SMC Inspection

In recent years, regionalized trade has developed rapidly, and the signing of the RCEP agreement has accelerated the process of regionalized trade. With the strengthening of the multilateral trading system, trade facilitation has become increasingly important, affecting the development of multilateral trade in various countries. This article uses principal component analysis and SMC inspection to measure and analyze the trade facilitation level of RCEP member countries from 2015 to 2019. The results show that the regulatory environment contributes close to 30% of trade facilitation and each RCEP member country has room for improvement in trade facilitation levels. In response to these results, we have put forward several policy recommendations for China, which will benefit the improvement of the trading environment and formulation of trade polices.
