Approaches to Anomaly Detection in Web Application Intrusion Detection Systems

Nowadays there is a constant growth of popularity of web services and applications. With their help a lot of tasks of users can be solved: purchase of goods and acquiring of different services, bank service and social communication. It is obvious that such services attract hackers’ attention. Unfortunately, the security of modern web services and applications leaves much to be desired as numerous reports of incidents show.At the stage of use the most effective means of web application and service protect are Web Application Firewalls (WAF). Unfortunately, the WAF requires keeping a large number of rules up to date. This is a very complicated task that requires highly qualified specialists.Because of it developments of different systems of anomaly detection are going on, which will allow detecting intrusions into web services and applications reliably.The study considers different approaches to the creation of such systems of anomaly detection.
