Characterization of Lineament Structures Across Amethyst Mineralization Zones Using Aeromagnetic Data at North Central Kaduna State, Nigeria

this research was aim at characterizing suspected lineament passing through amethyst mineralization zones in the study area. In this regard, aeromagnetic data was use as a tool in the analysis; by making use of some enhancement, technique includes first vertical derivative, second vertical derivative and analytical signal. Quantitative interpretation, which Werner and Euler deconvolution also applied. The Werner deconvolution produced more solutions for the depth to sources for dikes than contacts with depths ranging from 500m to 1950m, angle of dip from 48.1° to 64.1° and the magnetic susceptibility values from 0.002549SI to 1.654578SI within the deeper depths trending in the NW-SE profiles. Euler solution result revealed the presence of the major tectonic trends of anomalies in the NE-SW and NW-SE directions. Some of this trend are similar to fracture orientations in the Nigerian Basement Complex. These structures control the emplacement of the rocks within the study area and responsible for the possible flow of fluid that produced the amethyst mineralization.
