Facing many energy policies for rural areas, rural energy transformation ushered in major development opportunities. This paper presents a set of optimal planning and operation methods for rural integrated energy system (IES). Firstly, the devices contain in the rural IES and typical utilization modes are classified, considering the geographic characteristics and development level. Subsequently, a multilevel energy hub is proposed that takes energy from production to transmission, aiming to solve energy coupling inside rural IES. Based on this, the multi-objective bilevel optimization model is designed considering both planning and operation, in which particle swarm optimization (PSO) and mixed integer linear programming are jointly used as solving method. Finally, taking three typical scenarios in the differentiated development of China rural energy as example, the validity and practicability of proposed model are verified.
