This article emphasizes a more accurate approach to the existing methods of semen analysis. Human reproduction is a process through which an individual bears offspring. It results from fertilization of woman’s ovum by the man’s sperm. The quality of the sperm and the ovum decides whether or not the couple is able to conceive. The inability to conceive a child is known as infertility. Male infertility is most common due to deficiencies in the semen. Semen analysis helps a doctor determine male fertility to help a couple become pregnant or to determine the success of vasectomy procedure. Image processing is used to detect sperm abnormalities. This paper is designed to help in detecting sperm count and sperm vitality using MATLAB based image processing algorithm.0.
