摘要

Accurate diagnosis of winding deformation faults in transformers can significantly enhance the safety and reliability of power systems. Winding deformation is the major reason of failure of transformer. Therefore this paper describes a scheme to detect several winding deformations, present in power transformer. Several winding deformations of transformer are simulated using EMTP (Electromagnetic transient program) software. Transformer winding deformation currents have been recorded through alternating transient program (ATP) analyzer. Continuous wavelet transform (CWT) based feature extraction technique has been used to analyze the recorded winding deformed current. Results show that the accuracy of the proposed scheme is reasonably good.
